E127 - MTN TOP & CMX Start Competing, Well Kinda
You have enough of a hunting party, time to go look for all the red furl cans. With all the footage of thedays rride. Youshould be able to narrow the area of interest to search. Have fun ride fast
Huh?
Have to remember, pain is a sign that you are still alive
Yeppp, I had my last ride with Reagan a few weeks ago and while it was not bad where we went Keefer, I made the choice to go back to dirt. Pretty sure I’m building a ‘25 MTN Top next year. The old 18 KTM 450 won’t be going back to a snowbike I don’t think. Will have a dedicated snowbike by the fall.
If the aluminum dock doesn't fix the problem, another possible issue, is power. The vp needs greater than 11.5 volts to stay powered up. So if you have a small stator with high draw items, like big bright lights and vp on, partially discharged/weak battery, perhaps the draw is higher than the charge therefore the vp cycles off... Then on when volts are in excess of 11.5v.
Which suit are you using
My trail tech did the same thing. It kept turning on and off randomly. I bought the heavy duty aluminum dock station and that fixed the problem
2 dudes just goonin 🤙🏼
It's what we do!
When are turbo snowbikes making a comeback?
Wow super cool, on the snow bike kit in the single track. I look forward to lots of snow next winter.
Now I get why you don't like "riding" in big groups 😆 2:20 - 3:43 looked so fun. Curious how you got it out in the end.
There is a fun "Two-Up" riding section at the end, and then I jogged the last 7 - 8 km. I felt that for a couple of days. I don't normally run in big boots!
I can’t believe how you guys thread the needle through the trees!
Good job that wasn't a Yeti drive chain you were trying to swap - I started fitting a Yeti drive chain 4 months ago and I got finished late last night!
Ha the gt snow racer was never a fail, if it did not fall apart, and no one died. Good times in the snowy mountains
Hook to both pegs with a 6 ft loop with the main strap between the forks! Pulled a bike 10 1/2 miles and another bike 6 miles worked great!
I always carry a couple master links and carry spare chains in my gear bag, just in case!
We do now!
Ha good times in the snow. In the 70's we had those short stubby red skis you strap to your boots. I am totally amazed how 3 insane dare devils never broke any bones, in all the years of carnage, no major injuries. Have fun good luck
Hahahahah awesome, good luck.
Soooooo entertaining gentlemen, I cannot wait for the rescue video!!!!
Maybe those tunnel mounted footpegs guys are running now could make it easier for doubling out? But a GT or skimmer would be handier if the truck isn’t too far away.
Yeah, one of the reasons I have a snowmobile...for snowbike rescues... unfortunately.
We could have used your help today. 1 GT snow racer for sale, lol.
@@VernonSnowMX tbh, I have yet to use it to rescue my own bike yet. Other people's. But, no worries. Gotta get those bikes out.
Cant wait to watch this…. Hold my beer
Well, we survived, and Mervin is back home. Not sure if the video will be any good. We'll see!
Bring a XR 600 or XL650L with timbersled
Ha good times in the mountain snow,, "shining happy people holding handle bars"
That's an awesome zone. It's got a great mix of everything. Great videos, been watching for years. Glad to see that you like the CMX. I've had a 129" CMX on one of my bikes for 3 years. Rock solid and I love it.
Right on! Our only regret is that we did not start sooner! We have Orion from Squamish to thank. Cheers!
That looked like some wicked fun!
I already miss Sidecar... even though I still haven't used it on my Android. Bummer, it was such a good name.
First one to comment …i yi yi yi yi
Where can I find Sidecar for Android?
Sorry, it's not ready yet. Too many bugs for us to release it just yet.
@@VernonSnowMX oh my bad I thought you released it. Thanks
Funny, that same thing happened to my bike a couple days ago. Same bike 22 450sx. Found a broken wire after the connector behind the number plate bag. (didn't find it until I got home) but was able to bump start it using someone else's track spinning up against mine. Worked great and was the difference from ridding it out and towing it out.
We're glad you didn't cut it out...I think it is our new jingle! Can't wait for Sideca.....I mean TMA Mobile...for us Android folk.
And your footage gets more epic every video. The first few static shots look great, and the actual riding better!
I've had that connector corrode and make the button quit. I've also seen the grounding strap that hooks to negative terminal cause issues. If it is the switch, I love the Fly billet kill switches. Replaced the dumb kill/start switch on my 23 with two of them and they are really nice.
with all that snow build up behind the number plate, should be using dielectric grease in those connectors to keep the snow/water out.
Indeed!
Those starter buttons get corroded inside from all snow melting on heated bars. Had same issue. Easy bush fix once you know the issue
My ‘18 450 SXF did that on a really cold riding day. Had heated bars on, was ice built up all over everything around bars and number plate, top of forks. Stopped at “The Rock” for a drink and bite and went to go again and was dead. Light wouldn’t even come on and I have the light wired into the diagnostic pigtail mod so I knew nothing was getting power after the battery. Ended up getting pulled my a fella in a group of sleds we were touring around and it started up. Cranked bars up and got on it hard for awhile and next time I stopped it started fine. Chad said you can typically just cup your hands around the starter button and breathe on it a bunch of times and it warms up any tiny bit of ice that may be inside the rubber boot. May not have been your guys issue but it only happened to me on a day where it was like minus 15 riding up there.
Thanks Chris!
What was that tool?
It is called EngDuro. We really like them. In fact, we bought 10 of them to give as corporate gifts to moto buddies. :)
@@VernonSnowMX @clintonsmith7217 That's us. We have a bigger unit called the DoubleTrak as well.
Frozen starter?
Did you figure out the starting issue?
Chad at Innerspace is going to do some poking around for us. The odd thing is that each time, after about 5 minutes, it fixed itself!
i live in lumby, where are you guys riding?
That ride was down near Sugar Lake.
You guys must be South Park fans
Awesome ride. Makes me really want to try out a snow bike. Might have to keep an eye on the sales places for something that'll fit my CRF450X.
Good times Ha I have learned, never stop behind my kids, or my friends. In the sand, mud, ice, anything they think they can blast me with. Have fun
LMAO great intro .freekin mint
Interesting how your riding is changing as you're both getting used to the CMX machines. Flowing the terrain with a new style
Thanks. This has been a good year for progression. Settling into the capabilities of the kit, and the ski, without the distraction of being somewhat held back by the other kits that we were also riding. We're digging in deeper to the CMX package and finding that we can just get away with so much more. Cheers!
Good times in the snowy mountains. That just looks like too much fun. I have to go price out a kit for my bike. One of my good friends has the timber sled kit in his service 500, I have not had a chance to try that rig up yet. Have fun
When you demo the app, screen record what you’re doing up to put up on the screen later in editing. Great video as always guys!
Nice thinking!
Good times in the snow fellas. Communication is always key to survival, weather on a snow covered mountain, or in a gun fight with tracer rounds going by.
The sony standing shots are incredible. Thank you for the great edit..It is nice
Spent 4 days snowmobiling in snow like this. I have never been on my side so much in my life.
Some fun times in the snow. Do you pick a single gear,, or shift gears wiyh snow conditions ?
We have the bikes dialled. They just seem to work for all conditions. With that said, we gear our bikes lower than most people and we run gearing that would not work on a lower revving 500/501. Honestly, 99% of our non-trail riding is high in 1st gear.
@@VernonSnowMX cool, I ride a 20 Husqvarna te300i, been thinking about a snow bike kit for my bike. It does look like a blast
that's a lot of snow! I'm jealous - we are having less snow than normal in NE Oregon :( bikes look fun but I don't even like snowshoeing in too much snow with ice on top! hey, love your intro by the way! :) great video!
I'm over here Mt. Hood side and we've had a dismal snow year too, but had a solid week of snow last week and it's like 6 more inches today in the riding areas! And here I am with a herniated disc (made worse by snowmobiling two weeks ago lol) and a sled with a freshly rebuilt front end. 😭
@@gymkhanadog mt hood? cool - we've had snow for 3 days this week here - wow - you are good man - riding no matter what! :) bike looked pretty responsive!
